Virtual Rage Room: Smash Things Online for Free

Updated ยท by the SmashRelief team

Rage rooms are exactly what they sound like: you put on safety gear, pick up a bat or a crowbar, and spend a few minutes smashing plates, bottles, old TVs and printers. They have popped up in cities all over the world, and depending on the package they often cost somewhere between about $25 and over $100 per session (price overview).

That's great for a birthday or a team outing, but not for the Tuesday afternoon when a meeting runs over for the third time. A virtual rage room gives you a smaller version of the same release whenever you need it: open a page, break some things, close the page. Here is ours.

Your free virtual rage room

Each "room" below is a separate game. They all run in your browser, on phones as well as computers, and none of them need a download or an account.

Room 1: The office

Office Wrecker is the closest thing to a rage room for work stress. The "room" is a computer desktop full of unread emails, broken spreadsheets and back-to-back meetings. Your tools: a hammer, a pistol, an automatic gun, a flamethrower, bombs and a nuke. Everything you break stays broken.

Room 2: The glass room

In Glass Smash, the room is full of glass โ€” windows, a bathroom mirror, a flat-screen TV, a glass conference room door. Hit them until they shatter into dozens of shards. Earn heavier tools (a baseball and a brick) as you go.

Room 3: The kitchen

Plate Smash is the rage room classic: a brick wall and an endless stack of plates, mugs, bowls, vases and wine glasses. Tap to throw, watch them shatter, and let the pieces pile up on the floor. Quick throws build a combo.

Room 4: The quiet room

Not every bad day needs explosions. Bubble Wrap Pop is the cool-down room: endless sheets of bubble wrap you can swipe across to pop a whole row at once. There is a Zen mode with no timer and a 30-second challenge if you want a score. Next door, Fidget Toys has a Pop It, a fidget spinner and a board of clicky switches.

Frequently asked questions

What is a virtual rage room?

A virtual rage room is a game that recreates the feeling of a real rage room โ€” breaking things with no consequences โ€” on a screen. Browser versions like the ones on this page need no VR headset, no download and no booking.

Do I need a VR headset?

No. There are VR rage room apps for headsets, but every game on this page runs in a normal web browser on a phone, tablet or computer.

Is a virtual rage room as good as a real one?

It is different. A real rage room is a physical, social experience you plan for. A virtual one is a free two-minute break you can take at your desk. Many people enjoy both.

Is it free?

Yes. All SmashRelief games are free to play with no account.
